Drag Race is a player versus player game mode along an enclosed course featured in Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories
Participants have to manually change gear as they race against others to the finish line along a straight circuit. A good opportunity to change gear is highlighted in blue and a perfect shift is highlighted in green.
Over revving is highlighted in red and pushing an engine to this limit outside of a vehicle's highest gear will result in a blown engine. Colliding with any traffic vehicles will total a racer's vehicle and they will fail the event.
The available selection of drag courses depends on the player's current rank on the Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories. A higher rank will unlock more drag courses.
The starting grid of all sprint races consists of three rival racers and the player. All participants have a chance to earn a 'Perfect Start' during the race countdown by hitting the optimal rev range before the countdown is completed.
The awarded amount of Bounty and cash is dependent on the player's rank on the Blacklist, their finishing position and if the Rockport Police Department was involved at any point during the event.
